Hire

Self drive Uganda. Your route, our vehicle.

Collect at Entebbe or Kampala. Drive the parks and circuits on a written agreement — not a mystery rate at the airport desk.

Why self-drive with Stim

A 4x4 that is ready for gravel, not only the tarmac into town.

Highways between Kampala, Entebbe, and the big towns are mostly sealed. The last hours into Murchison, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi, Kidepo, and Lake Mburo are gravel — and in the rains, worse. That is why we brief a Prado or Land Cruiser for park roads, and a RAV4 class for circuits that stay closer to town.

You keep the itinerary. Stim keeps the vehicle, the insurance description, and someone on the phone if the plan moves. Gorilla permits and lodge nights are not in the day rate. We will get you to the gate.

Self-drive Prado hire for Uganda roads

What a Stim self-drive includes

The vehicle

Named class (RAV4, Prado, Land Cruiser, van). Walk-around at handover. A similar unit if yours is off the road.

Insurance as written

Third-party and, where the agreement says so, own-damage. Indicative excess: USD 300–500 RAV4 class, USD 500–1,000 Prado, USD 800–2,000 Land Cruiser. The agreement binds.

Pickup that matches a flight

Entebbe Airport and Kampala. Other drop points are quoted. Cross-border is written permission, not assumed.

Support on the road

WhatsApp and phone for breakdowns and timing. We plan a replacement. We do not pretend we can refund unused lodge nights.

Fuel is yours

Day rates exclude fuel. Return at the agreed level — usually the same as handover.

Mileage

Most Uganda self-drive quotes include unlimited mileage on public roads. Extra borders or unusual use are on the quote.

Peak months go first. A written quote beats a queue at arrivals.
