What we collect
- Enquiry form: name, email, phone, service, passengers, destination, pickup and return points, dates and times, vehicle class, and your message.
- Phone and WhatsApp: the number you use, and the same booking details if you send them there.
- Hire files: licence details, additional drivers, and invoicing information you give us.
- On this website: a currency preference in your browser’s local storage, and a cookie-notice flag. We do not run advertising pixels on these pages.
Why
To reply to quotes, run the hire, invoice, meet legal accounting duties, and keep a record if there is a claim. Lawful bases under the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 include contract, consent (form and WhatsApp), and legitimate interests in running a transport business.
If you choose WhatsApp, Meta processes that conversation under Meta’s terms. That is a channel you pick; the email form does not require it.
Who we share with
Insurers and, if needed, the police or URA for a claim or a legal duty. Hosting is on our web host so the form can send mail. We do not sell contact lists.
How long
Enquiry mail is kept while we might still need it for a booking, then for the accounting period the law requires. You may ask us to delete a quote that did not become a hire.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion where the law allows. Write to info@stimroadtravels.com. You may also complain to Uganda’s Personal Data Protection Office.
Cookies
Essential operation of the site, plus a record that you dismissed the cookie notice, and a USD/EUR/GBP preference. No tracking cookies are set by Stim on these pages today. If that changes, we will update this notice.
People in the EU, UK, and EEA (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or the EEA, the EU GDPR and/or UK GDPR may also apply to your enquiry and hire file, alongside Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
- Lawful bases we rely on: performance of a contract (quoting and running the hire), legitimate interests in operating a transport business and preventing fraud, and consent where you choose WhatsApp or optional fields.
- We process name, email, phone, travel dates, vehicle class, licence details at pickup, and invoicing data. We do not sell this data.
- Hosting and email may involve processors outside Uganda (our web host and mail transport). Transfers are only to run the booking.
- You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, or a copy of your data. EU/UK residents may also object to processing based on legitimate interests, and complain to their local supervisory authority as well as Uganda’s Personal Data Protection Office.
- Data-protection requests: info@stimroadtravels.com. We aim to reply within 30 days.
Children
We do not seek data from children. Hires are contracted with adults.
