Left-hand traffic
Uganda drives on the left. Roundabouts and overtaking catch visitors from right-hand countries. If that is you, a chauffeur day at the start is cheaper than a dent.
Speed and towns
Limits are posted. Towns and trading centres slow suddenly. Speed humps are real. Cameras and traffic police operate on the main corridors including Entebbe Road.
Police and papers
Keep licence, hire agreement, and vehicle papers in the car. Be polite. Do not pay a “fine” into a personal mobile-money name. If something feels wrong, call the Stim desk on the agreement.
Parks and after dark
Park speed is UWA’s. Night driving on gravel is a judgement call — we brief it; we do not romanticise it. Animals on the road are not a story. They are a braking distance.
Alcohol
Do not drink and drive a Stim vehicle. That is a breach of the hire and of the insurance.

Say so on the quote. Many visitors self-drive after Entebbe.
